Tellabs in Central and Eastern Europe

Tellabs has a considerable installed base in the Central and Eastern Europe region, including Tellabs managed access and transport technologies, working with service providers such as T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone, Telenor, and KPN affiliates. Tellabs has dedicated offices in countries across the region, which are managed by local experts. The EMEA headquarter is in the United Kingdom.
The Central and Eastern Europe telecoms markets are undergoing significant change with drivers coalescing from all directions: market liberalisation, technological innovation, borderless competition and foreign capital injection. Tellabs’ experience and footprint spreads throughout the region and we have seen how the telecoms environment in CEE has been transformed from flat growth, zero competition to a competitive, innovative growth market leading the way in broadband uptake.
The challenge operators in the region face, is building an infrastructure to support the interest in new telecoms services such as broadband, VoIP and IP VPNs and 3G. In some circumstances, carriers will need a bridge to the future, a carefully planned migration from old to new, where sunk investment can be capitalised upon. In others, where operators are not confined to installed infrastructure as many of their Western counterparts did, a leapfrog to an all-IP environment may well be warranted. In either case, Tellabs is ideally positioned to support local operators.
