Why CEE is so important for Symantec?

How are Symantec helping development of the region?

Talking about CEE, we see a huge business opportunity for us in the future, esp. in the new EU members joined in April 2004. We believe, the eastern enterprises are in process to adopt to the western standards and increase spendings into IT security significantly in the next couple of years. Therefore from our side , we have been heavily investing into the eastern european countries since the last 10 years. New Symantec offices opened in Russia, Poland, Czech republic and Hungary, and Symantec is widely recognized in those countries as the leading vendor in the security industry.

Technology
With threats to information systems coming from all sides and growing in number and complexity, enterprise customers know that hardening network perimeters is not enough. Symantec provides best-of-breed security solutions for all tiers of a network: at the gateways between the network and the outside world, at the servers that act as the network's vital organs, and at end-user devices including desktop PCs, laptops and handhelds.

  • Integrated security solutions are designed to work together as a unified system, providing better overall protection, quicker response and more efficient management.
  • Security management solutions, based on an open, standards-based architecture, provide a comprehensive view of security, enabling proactive defense and real-time enterprise-wide response.
  • Firewall/VPN solutions to protect data and assets without slowing performance.
  • Intrusion detection solutions that act as a "security force" inside the perimeter to spot intruders that penetrate the outer defenses.
  • Policy compliance management solutions help customers define and enforce policies from a central location as well as probe for network vulnerabilities and suggest remedies.
  • Virus protection/content filtering solutions offer critical protection from Internet-borne threats for the desktop through the gateway for individuals all the way up to the largest enterprise.
  • Anti-spam solutions filter spam and other undesired messages at the gateway and are critical to an overall email security solution.

Symantec’s enterprise administration solutions facilitate the efficient management of hardware and software assets, providing customers a corporate-wide capability to plan, track and apply system changes, including software distribution, license management, software metering and disaster recovery.

Symantec's Norton brand of consumer security products is a market leader in desktop protection, providing peace of mind with integrated products that work seamlessly to protect individual's computers from virus outbreaks or malicious hacker attacks.
